About Alvarado & Galvan Family Tree
I started this website in order to share some of my ancestral findings with anyone who may show an interest in the Alvarado & Galvan surname or my wife's surname Salinas & Contreras. Please take a look at my "personal stories" below. Click on "Stories".

This family tree was created thinking of our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and future generations also we can stay connected with our roots. Help me keep the most accurate facts and information about the family unfortunately anytime you upload a family tree it changes a few things around also some of which may be inaccurate and some of which may have been entered erroneously and those typos which I may have created. Please help keep all information as accurate as possible so please feel free to make any necessary corrections I have a lot of relatives and I do not have the first or last name information so I have marked them as Unknown (Unknown to me) so if you know this name please help let me know so I can correct it. If you have any information, family names, or suggestions and want me to add them for you contact me.

I reside in San Antonio, Texas, my parents are Anastacio Galvan Sr. (1935-1986) and Aurora Alvarado (1939-). I started working on my own family tree, when I met some family during my grandmother’s funeral April 6, 2009. I was writing down their names when I realized that I did not know them. So I decided to make it a point to meet them before I leave this world.

I have included both sides of our family members. You can find information by looking in our parents/grandparent’s bible. If you find something please share it with us. Already I have met many extended family members as I progressed in my search. My wife and I have met many family member’s right here in San Antonio, Texas. I was able to find my aunt (Ernestina Alvarado) that died in 1969. She is buried in Austin behind at an abandoned school cemetery. We also found another aunt (Carman Alvarado) which died at the age of 6 month old. The cemetery address is 11408 Leopard St. in Corpus Christi, Texas.

On the Alvarado side I am a descendant of Genaro (1867-1941) who was in charge of the Tex-Mex railroad in Laredo, Texas and Nuevo Leon, Mexico. I was told that we are of German descendants. This is a story from my Uncle Fernando Alvarado and Cousin Jose Alvarado.

I recently was told (Aug 13,2011) by Carlos Alvarado son of Raul Alvarado that GGGrandfather
Genaro Alvarado real last name was Muller or Miller. The story was started in the 1880 when the
Muller family was traveling from the East coast to the West. On the way they were attack by native Indians. His whole family was killed and he was captive. He ran away and traveled to Laredo where his was adopted by a wealthy family called Alvarado. I have not confirmed this yet but I need help in this matter.

I want to thank Jose "El Cucuy" Alvarado, Frank & Elvira Medrano, Alicia Charo, Regina Pina, Antonio Gutierrez, Rosa Marta Pina, and Fernando Alvarado for their help in putting all this data together. We still need more of your information. I dedicate this site to you my family and all future family members. Remember that life is what you make of it! So do all you can do!

You are also invited to sign the guest book. Thank you for visiting I hope you enjoy visiting as much as I've enjoyed putting it together I would also love to have pictures of your family so please post. Visit often, as new information and pictures are frequently added. Thank you again for visiting!

I've tried to be as accurate as possible with limited resources.

There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list.
