About Hana and Xanthe's Tree
Please sign in to see more. This website was set up by my father, who passed away on 21 September 2009 having suffered from motor neurone disease for the previous 18 months. This is the introduction he wrote to our family tree.
"When our younger son was just a toddler and had to go off to bed earlier than his older brother and sisters, I used to take him up to his bedroom and recount to him tales about events and places from my childhood and teenage years. These anecdotes must have made an impression on Greg as, some time after his marriage in 1998, he suggested it would be helpful, and of some historical value, if I could write down some of those stories so that he could recount them in the future to his family. These recollections now cover many, many pages and have brought back untold happy memories. Then for my 70th birthday, as an incentive to progress the writing, the family presented me with a Family Treemaker programme for the computer. With somewhere in excess of 8000 names on the tree it includes the branches going back on both sides of our granddaughters' families and continues as an ongoing project. This website, developed by Tribal Pages, seems to be the best method, taking into account privacy matters, for the tree to be made available to relatives or others who may be researching the various branches. We hope that those who study it will find it as interesting as we have." |
