About The Family Orchard: There and Back
This tree is focused primarily on the Ridinger family that migrated from the Rhineland/Pfalz region of Western Germany to Rohrbach, Ukraine in 1809

The Ridinger's were a prominent family in Rohrbach, but the changes in Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 eventually took all of their possessions and many of their lives. They now reside primarily in Germany and the United States.

Many hardships were experienced in Rohrbach during the collectivization period and during the famines. Those that remained were evacuated by the German army near the end of World War II. A few later moved to the United States, and many were re-located to remote regions of the Soviet Union. Most of those have since moved back to Germany.

I have completed a pictorial history of the descendants of those who left Rohrbach and their current whereabouts, entitled Rohrbach Journey. You can find a link on the left side of this page. An English and a German version are available.

A history of the Ridinger migrations are chronicled in "A Continental Journey: The Ridingers of Rohrbach". A link is also included on the left side of this page. This book will soon be revised and updated.
