About Rogers, Seliger, & Family
This page is about the ancestors, descendants, and relatives of Patricia Ann Rogers Seliger.

This adventure began in the late 1990's with a packet of documents and letters given to me years earlier by my father, James Winston Rogers, which was given to him by HIS father, George Elmore Rogers in the 1940's - documents that told where our branch of the Rogers family came from and who we were.

I decided to prove whether those documents were true or not, and by and large with a few exceptions, they have been - at least as far as I have gotten...for this page is a work in progress...

They tell a story of a family that came to America from England. Settling in Virginia, they then migrated to Tennessee and then down the Natchez Trace in 1842 to Texas. They fought in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Civil War, and WWII.

My paternal grandmother's grandmother, widowed as a young woman during the Civil War, floated down the Sabine River on a barge to start a new life in Texas. My grandparents met in Galveston after surviving the 1900 hurricane.

They are a hardy family.

Along the way, I have taken side trips along some of the branches. It has been an exciting and fascinating adventure.
