Hello and welcome. I have for about twenty years wanted to trace my family roots, now with the wonders of the net I have put my dream into practice. To find out what makes us what we are,and why we look and act the way we do has always held a fascination for me right back to when I was a little girl listening to stories my parents and my nan would tell.
Little did I know when I started it is totally addictive and you keep going to find any little snippet of info you can to add to the tapestry. I would love to know where the artistic talents shared by my Mom, my two daughters and myself come from (as yet undiscovered, perhaps Mom is the first artist). Like most people I wondered if I would find any heroes or villains amongst all the family that came before me. There are a few sinners , but also a few saints e.g George Fox, but for the most part they were, like most of us a mixture of both. The certain thing is they are all heroes in my eyes, just for surviving the terrible conditions they had to put up with and to pass down that fighting spirit to all of us. I have been surprised at the depth of feeling I have when I discover anyone born in the workhouse,or those that spent any part of their lives there, but overcame it to lead pretty normal lives. Even more so the ones that ended their lives within those dreaded walls. It certainly makes you thankful to be living in the 21st century.
I have on my quest found cousins that I never knew existed. I have had invaluable help and info from some of them and I hope that, I in return have helped them.
If you think that those roots are shared, please get in touch. Vanda.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
