About The Vandenberg/Avant Families
On November 11th, 2012, Bill "Coach" Avant passed away. He was surrounded by his loving wife Fredabeth "Baba", and daughters Lee and Marci and son Joe.

We will all miss him very much.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My wife, Lee Avant, traces her family back through William Troy Avant and Fredabeth Hargis Avant. Significant family names on her side are Ballew, Thomison (or Thomason), Scenter, Tucker, Pattrick, and Henson. It's a little difficult to trace some of the family as they are descendants of the Cherokee and other civilized tribes.

My family goes back through Paul Peter Vandenberg and Margaret Zwicker Vandenberg. Other significant family names are Ryan, Van Den Heuvel, Van Baardwijk, Bevers, Rumboluin, and Murphy.

Please sign the Guest Book at the top of this page. Everyone who comes here would LOVE to
know that you have visited.

I highly recommend that you read some of the "Stories" that are linked at the top this home page.
The
Ballew History by Donald Ballew is a very moving recounting of life and death early last
century in Oklahoma.

For the Vandenbergs and Vandenheuvels, check out the link at the top of this page to the Vandenberg Wedding 1913. When you get to Chris Bever's photo page, go to the bottom of the page.

If our family and yours have common ancestors, I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
 Dick Vandenberg

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
