Please sign in to see more.
Hello
my name is Vicki Backhouse and my email is vicki.justin@virginmedia.com I am helping to research our family history.
This has lead to lots of information being gathered on families in and around Staffordshire particularly the towns & villages of Caverswall, Cheadle, Alton, Uttoxeter, Dilhorne, Stone, Hilderstone from 1600 to present day

The ARMISHAW & ARMSHAW line has information back to the 1660 starting with Johanus Armishaw from Alton Staffs`s. Many thanks to David and Richard Armishaw for sharing their research

The BACKHOUSE family has been traced back to Thomas Backhouse b.1621 in Stone, Staffs. This information was researched by Brenda Backhouse

The BETTANY line has been traced back to the 1651, Rogeri Bettany from Dilhorne, Staffs, many thanks to Carol Bettany, Huia Mitchel and Philipa Lockett for sharing their information

At last I have made some headway with my mother maiden name of GOLDSTRAW, I can now trace our line back to Cheddleton in 1800, and we were a family of butchers

The KNOBBS line is currently being researched by myself Jean Kemp; Wendly Edley and Edmund over in USA

The SIMCOCK and SYMCOX of Caverswall. My head has been spinning recently try to fathem the in`s and out`s of these families. I think that it is starting to take shape now, a big thank you to :- Andy Bird; Emma White; Helen Amison; Karen; Melanie; Norm Simcock; Simon Hill; Carol Ann Bettany & everyone else who has supplied information

I must also add here a big thanks to everyone who has contacted me from the genes connected site, I have included whatever information everyone has been able to supply and as a whole it is really adding up to allot of interesting information, thanks everyone, keep it coming!

I hope that the information will be of help and interest to other researchers This is still very much work in progress, I am trying to add sources for all the information supplied. I know that there are errors and question marks as is always the case so if anyone finds any errors or additional information please let me know and I will correct things

I would love to hear from anyone else with interests in any of these families

I have e-mails for all the afore mentioned researchers, if anyone would like to contact with any of them please drop me a drop and I will forward contact details

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
