I am informed by a Lincolnshire Historian that my Mother's Maiden Name,FAULCONBRIDGE, came from Antwerp in Belgium.

The Belgium Name for FAULCONBRIDGE is "VALKENBORCH" and in 1640 Sir John VALKENBORCH came to England with his Family and settled close to the Lincolnshire Fens.

Sir John VALKENBORCH is responsible for the draining of the Fens at great expense to himself. His Brother Francis had 11 Children who it is thought carried on his work.

I have seen a map of 17th Century England and the Fens are the only area where the Name VALKENBORCH is found, it is not until the 18th Century that the VALKENBORCH Family move away from the Fen's,some moved down to the South of England but the Majority settled in and around the Midland's area of Nottingham and Mansfield.
