About Weighills from Whitby and Families
Welcome to my Website! I have spent thousands of hours researching birth and baptism records, marriage registers, death and burial records, Wills, Administration and Probate records. I have
been to homes where my Ancestors lived and found documents there that have proved much of my research. I have found many on-line resources such as ancestry.co.uk, findmypast.co.uk , SEAX Essex Archives on line, World Vital records, familysearch.org, the Northeast Inheritance Database
at Durham University, Origins.net, The Borthwick Institute at the University of York and the National Archives of England and many others. I have gathered a great deal of information at the
Whitby Philosophical library in the Whitby Museum and have now become an active member working on a project to transcribe documents so they can be made searchable at the library.. I also would like to thank all the people and
relatives I have given and received information through Ancestry.com and other connections. Many
thanks to my brother Bernie , The Late Peter Cocker from Portugal for his work on the Kitchin branch,
relatives in Derbyshire, Arthur Patmore in New Zealand, and my Cousin Joan in Andrew and others in Australia and New Zealand, England, Canada, United States. Jane and Emma Cosens my Weighill Connections in Sheffield, Debbie Turnbull in Darlington and my Bourne Branch relatives in the United States, Canada and England as
well as many many more resources and people.
I have copies of wills of many of my various Great, 2 times great, 3 times great up to and even some 8 times great grandparents, as well as copies of many other records. Please leave me a message on my guest Book if you
would like to see my site or want information, or just to say you stopped by. I also have thousands of names and information to add, so check back regularly. I have currently been quite busy on my projects, but I will begin to add more information soon.

I would like to mention that the organ at St.Hilda's Catholic Church has been repaired and is working fine. So thank all you people who contributed to this. Also thanks a a benefactor that helped with a very large contribution. I believe the cost was more than 30,000 pounds. I would now like to ask people to help support the Pannett Park Museum and Literary and Philosophical society in Whitby. It is a great treasure trove and can use all the financial support we can give. Become a member of the Lit and Phil, visit the museum and library. Help what our ancestors started continue for another 200 years.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
