Its been years of interest in family history that has brought me to this site, and I thank everyone who has contributed to all the questions over the years - especially my mother. She tells me things again and again, and honestly I do remember a lot! However, as we switch from an oral tradition to written history, its important to write down what we know, so we know where we come from. Its also amazing to see how we are related, especailly in our Lakota nations. It has always been one of the most shameful things not to know who our relatives are - perhaps this is a way to bring that honorable knowledge back into our families.
I also want to add our Lakota/native names, so as you look through the families, and you know of any, either add them, or email me so I can do that.
The DeCory information came from Blanche and Edna DeCory. The Arpan information came from my mother, Ione Walters, her cousin Albert "Swap" Arpan, and Robin Arpan from Montana. Deb Cordier provided much of the Cordier information, as did Rusty Cordier of Montana.
Cousin Dawn Dillon has been wonderful in gathering the Giroux information! My son Albert helped with the LeBeau information.
Thanks!
