Melanie Ann-Louise Alderton (Windley), I am the web master of this site. In this family tree we have links with "King Robert the Bruce of  Scotland", The East Indian Company & Tritton Furniture, The Freemasons, Fryer's Chocolates, with possible links to Penfold's wines. The accounts of my family and Grandparents are my experiences and memories, which can be different for each individual who comprises a family tree.

I would like to thank Victor Hubert Rewald and his son Kenneth Victor Rewald for putting together the Rewald family tree dating back to 1874, for a Rewald family reunion in 1974. The "black book" was where I got the first lot of information to start this family tree.
 In this tree I'm a Decanadent of Ferdinand Gustav & Albertine Caroline Christine (Hornbostel) Rewald their son Albert Hermann Rewald their 11th child -his 5th child Martha Louisa Rewald - her daughter the 5th child Christine Beverly Crofts, I'm her 1st born Melanie Ann-Louise Windley.

Laurence Henry Crofts always knew there was a link to royalty which had been passed down the line for generations, but no-one was sure of the link. This was found by my aunt when she started to go through the family tree. Through the Bright line, George Bright's Daughter married an Oliphant "John", in this line we go back so far, to the 1150‘s. This is the line that links us to Robert "De Bruce". This line makes me the 23rd generation, back on my mother's (Christine Beverly Crofts), Fathers (Laurence Henry Crofts), Mother's (Eleanor Martha Bright) line.
This is also the line where we are linked with the Campbell's by marriage from Lord John Oliphant to Elizabeth Campbell, this is 18 generations ago, linking also to the Castle "Inverarary Castle". The current Duke of Argyll, Chief Clan Campbell, his wife is a Cadbury. Mark & Christine Windley visited when they went to The United Kingdom in 2018?
 In this line there are  family crests (coat of arms), Lords, Earls, Reverends, Lt Colonel’s, Duke's, Surgeons,

On the Windley side there are links with the Convict ships to Australia, Bullock drivers,   Bettini is a French name, This side of the family  tree still has a lot of work to be done.

On the Alderton / Penfold sides we are still working on possible links to the Freemason’s, we have found records for the Alderton side all ready, Fry’s Chocolates and Penfold wines.
