About Tanner and Marble families
Please sign in to see more. This family page is in memory of my father, William Reuben Tanner, Jr. He was the middle child of eight children. He had three brothers and four sisters. People knew him as a comedian and a critic, but very few knew he liked poetry, and was fascinated with thought-provoking quotes. Even though he could not express himself very well verbally, he could in writing. Mama saved most, if not all his letters to her while he was in the Army. I was amazed at how romantic he could be. The war took its toll on him though and he never got over what he experienced. He just couldn`t understand `man`s inhumanity to man.`
I want to thank my cousin Michael Bullock for his 21 years of research and documentation. He has been a big help in putting this all together.
Here is the poem Grandpa gave to Grandma: `I love the time we first met... I loved you then and I love you yet...Times may change and we may part...But time will never change my heart.` A true friend, WRT
It just goes to show how we need to think about what we say and where it can lead. Eight children, 27 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 69 gggrandchildren!!!
