About van der Weide Family Tree
Please sign in to see more.
The majority of people in this tree are of Dutch origin. The van der Weide side originated in the Bolsward Friesland area. The Wiggemans family were mainly from Aalten and Winterswijk.. In more recent years many came from and some still live in Deventer, Overijssel.
Some originate from small villages in Germany. These are the ancestors of Faye Murray.
This is a continuous work in progress and research is being done and added from time to time. Where possible, I've provided a copy of the actual document of the time period. In some cases I have the information but not the document. The information has nevertheless been verified.
Much work has been done by myself (Egbert Willem van der Weide). But much has been added by many other genealogist amateurs. In the Netherlands, all family birth, deaths, marriages and other records were documented from 1811 on. This is when Napoleon occupied the Netherlands and decreed everyone needed to sign up for a surname. Much information from before that time is documented by lists of fathers and mothers of people. In earlier times information was collected by physically going to churches, graveyards and other sources. This was done mostly in Friesland by one of my sources.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
