Sorry to ask this again, I am sure it has been asked before but I cannot find the answer.

Is it possible to hyperlink a story on my home page to the person it relates to.

Hi Russell, below is a small piece of code. You can enter this into the persons NOTES and when you click on it, it will send you to their STORY.

You can REVERSE this is you wish, by putting it in their STORY and when you click on it, you will go to their NAME.

This is what you USE, but try mine below to give you an example

**********

<a href="YOUR STORY HTTP HERE">Russell SMITH</a>

**********

TRY THESE FIRST

If you COPY and PASTE THIS one into one of your NOTES you will find it will take you to one of MY STORY pages

************************

<a href="http://vyepar.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=vyepar&view=78&randi=5099807&storyid=14905"> RUSSELL NOTES</a>

************************

REVERSED

If you COPY and PASTE this one into one of your STORY PAGES

It will take you to one of MY NAMES

************************

<a href="http://vyepar.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=vyepar&view=0&pid=55&randi=238247499"> MY NAME

</a>

************************

Let me know how you get on. You can e-mail me if you wish. e-mail ADDRESS is on my HOME PAGE

Further to Les's reply, his code for an example of a hyperlink from the Home Page to a Story could be simplified to

<a href="http://vyepar.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=vyepar&view=78&storyid=14905"> RUSSELL NOTES</a>

and to go back from the Story to the Home page he could use the "Back" button or this simplified code

<a href="http://vyepar.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=vyepar&view=9"> HOME PAGE</a>

And similarly you can make hyperlinks from one Story to another in the same way. To return to your previous location, the "Back" button is probably the simplest, requiring no code.

However there is currently a problem with these hyperlinks not working on the DVD if it is used on an off-line computer. I suggest that you discuss this with TP if you are planning on ordering a DVD. If anyone has ordered a DVD with hyperlinks, their experience on whether it works off-line would be a useful addition to this topic.

Hi Shlomo, I beg to differ. You have not simplified the HYPERLINK code. I suggested the following to Russell which is the standard.

**********

<a href="YOUR STORY HTTP HERE">Russell SMITH</a>

**********

As for the examples I gave----

I used the full URL address, so as not to confuse, as if I had simplified this, it would have looked incorrect. As you know addresses can be long or short.

I did not suggest the BACK/FORWARD buttons, as you should know that by using the BACK button, this is Ok, provided you have not gone back and forth selecting other pages, between using the HYPERLINK, as you will only go to those, before you get to the page that you had left previously, with the HYPERLINK.

Have a HAPPY EASTER

All the best
