But, is there any way I can hide a string of text in an imported event field? Right now I need to remember who has SSN info and manually go through and delete the number. Lots of work and could forget some of the names to edit.
The only other option I can see is to use RegEx on the exported GED file import.
What is the secret to an easier method?
If this would work remember to take an ORIGINAL COPY of your Legacy.
Just an off chance suggestion.

Posibly also with EXCEL Depends if EVENTS show
<div style="display:none> </div>

Legacy is my Master database, used for multiple upload destinations. Must have all data and is point for all updates.
But it has a tagging feature that will allow me tag selected events. So, I can tag SSN events. When I export I can say export except Tag #n. Now the Legacy will still have SSN info, and file uploaded to Tribal Pages will not have it. Someone who needs it could contact me.
No manual editing. Adding event gets Auto Tag. Export has no SSN. Tribal Pages is secure from data scraping.
Thanks for the initial thoughts. Maybe a future enhancement to select events to hide?
Go to EDIT and find your TEXT.
Such as
LOVELY DAY HERE IN WALES
Here it is again but with this at Beginning and End <! >
<!LOVELY DAY HERE IN WALES>
This should now disappear.
Cannot Check owing to this now not appearing for at least FOUR HOURS

1. Would need manual editing for EACH record, I do that now by deleting it.
2. Using HTML Comment leaves confidential SSN available in source code, not acceptable.
