I'm tired of re-adding them in RM, I can't see what I'm doing wrong. I have a paid subsription, save my database often, download a ged then import into RM....that's it.
What can I be doing wrong? When I read the ged text file I do not see the marriage details ether.
You may not be doing anything wrong but I doubt if I will be able to supply the answer. I use Rootsmagic 7 mainly because it provides a link to checking names in my tree with FamilySearch data. I find it very useful for that purpose. I checked out a few marriages after I read your message and what I looked at were OK. I have since looked at some Christenings, Burials and Cremation data and there are inconsistencies. Sometimes only dates appear and place information does not come through with the Gedcom. I don't know if the problem is with the Rootsmagic program or the Tribalpages Gedcom. I will watch more closely next time I upload a Tribalpages Gedcom and send it on to my Rootsmagic site.
Sorry I cannot be of more help at present.
Here is what I have found for three persons. I presume the same will most likely apply if I check more names.
For my father, Baptism and Cremation details are shown in my Tribalpages tree. Both dates and places. For two of my brothers, Baptism place and dates are shown.
After downloading my Tribalpages Gedcom to Rootsmagic only the dates appear in Rootsmagic, Not places.
I also have the old Personal Ancestral File saved in my computer. Downloading the same Tribalpages Gedcom that I downloaded to Rootsmagic I found that The Personal Ancestral file showed full details. Both dates and PLACES.
Appears from this small trial that it is the Rootsmagic 7 program that is not saving and printing the missing place information. I have not found a problem with marriages but only where I have used "events" to add data. May be significant but its all there with the PAF program. Same Gedcom used for both.
