Further to previous message re back button not working for amending Forum messages.

You may say I should have checked this point before sending previous message as some browsers are now obviously showing up a number of differences. However only thought about that after sending previous message.

I have found the back button does not work in my computer using MICROSOFT EDGE. It works fine in my computer with Chrome and IE.

Can you explain why Microsoft Edge is different for editing a Forum message.

Ctrl+N Open a new window on the same folder.

Ctrl+W Close the current window.

Alt+Up Arrow Go up one level.

Alt+Right Arrow Go forward.

Alt+Left Arrow Go back.

Alt+D Move the focus to the address bar, and select the current path.

You do not seem to understand that the Back Button works completely different on each Browser and in the myriad of programs.

So do not blame Tribal Pages

This depended on what the Original Programmer decided, and lots just copied each other.

Today there are so many people, who believe everything should be done for them, instead of ever trying to learn any IT.

How many have ever bothered with WORD--SPREADSHEETS--Photoshop.

Or even looked at KEYBOARD ALTERNATIVES such as my short example, yet they try to make out that they can use a PC. and then only to blame others for their lack of knowledge

SO THIS IS a SHORT ANSWER TO

I appreciate your offer of help. I don't think I ever suggested that Tribalpages were at fault as so many often do. I might have made it look as if this issue was important to me but its not really. I am more than happy myself with how Microsoft Edge works. Thanks again for the reply but not worth my going to the trouble of checking what you have written.

To Unknown Author,

I have just read your replies again and while I don't want to waste more of your time, as well as my own, on this subject, I am wondering if you understood what I was getting at when I said the back button is not working.

I probably should not have just used the words "not working" More correct to say it was "not working in Edge as was expected for editing purposes". The button is working but the problem is what happens next. Not the fault of the button but, I guess, but some difference in the program. In EDGE instead of allowing editing of the message the message is totally deleted.

When you go to "preview" Tribalpages state "to make corrections use the back button in your browser".

That is fine using Chrome and IE but with Edge you end up having to retype the complete message again.

Have I explained that better. I am not at all concerned. I know to save the message before going to "preview" Other members might not and they will have to retype the complete message. However with Edge they will learn to save first as I now do.

You may not use Edge so cannot reproduce what I have said. If you do have a go and see if the same happens in your computer. Going to preview and using the back button in Chrome and IE work perfectly. Exactly as they have always done.

Hi Alan, yes I did understand that is why I put the following

You do not seem to understand that the Back Button works completely different on each Browser and in the myriad of programs.

So do not blame Tribal Pages

This depended on what the Original Programmer decided, and lots just copied each other.

I can now see that you meant EDGE that I have not used.

I stay with what I have that is working, as I do not see the point in changing and updating, for the little that I do now

Have a nice day
