How do I change a members name from their maiden name to their married name on the members list? It correctly shows their "name on site" but I can't edit the members name field to show their current name. Is there a way to do this?

To change any surname go to the individual's family page, click on the little box to the right of their name, click edit, delete the existing surname and replace it with the new surname.

But, it is not good genealogical practise to change the individual's surname when they marry because that person would cease to be recorded in an ancestral Gedcom, or a Report, of her birth surname

When a husband's name is entered in your tree, it is done as a spouse, and it is automatically recorded that she is married, and to whom.

I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear. Obviously I don;t want to change anyone's birth name in the tree itself, what I want to do is change their name in the members list. When you send out an invitation to a new member, once they are indentified in the tree you can change their name on the members list to their married name at that time but if they later change their surname or if originally you didn't correct it at the time then I can't find a way to change it now. I'm probably missing something obvious but although changing their email address is straightforward the name field is not a changeable field.

Sorry about the misunderstanding.

I have never had your problem but I would imagine it is possible to delete the current invitation and make a new invitation in the married name
