I have pleaded about this several times over the years and nothing has been done.

What do you see here? John O'Leary

(I typed a front apostrophe, and it displays a vertical apostrophe, yet once saved as a record, it displays and prints as a back apostrophe - i.e John O`Leary). In this forum under "preview" it displays as a vertical apostrophe.

(I typed a back apostrophe, and it displays a back apostrophe, and once saved, it correctly displays and prints as a back apostrophe). In this forum under "preview" it displays as a back apostrophe.

So how do I create a name with a front (or even a vertical) apostrophe? The back apostrophe problem is not just in names, but in place names, etc. But strangely not in "Notes".

I have experimented with English Australia, English UK and English US keyboards, but the problem persists. It looks terrible.

Am I alone in this problem?

Thank you, Les. It is good of you to point me to those sites. Unfortunately, although interesting - especially if I want special characters - they do not help me with my problem.

You see, I use a wide range of text entry programs, including Word, across several devices and operating systems. Tribal Pages in the ONLY program that converts my "normal" apostrophe into a backwards one. Which indicates to me that TP must be responsible. This has been the case over the eight years I have been a TP subscriber.

So I am appealing to anyone reading this - do you have the same problem?
