At present, I have two family trees with you Hambling family and Taylor. I have a combined family tree on Ancestry, which I would like to upload to Tribal. Would it be best to cancel both trees I have with you and upload the file to a new tree, cancel one I have with you, if so how do I do that, do you remove the complete tree? Which would be the best way to go about this.

Hi Phil,

I don't work for TP but have been a user for many years.

Question: do you want to retain the two separate trees or do you simply want to replace them with the combined one?

Its Ok I have deleted one. Another one I had on ancestry I downloaded the gedcom file then uploaded into my Tribal tree and over half was missing. So I’m doing it one person at a time. Its taking ages but I’m getting there. Many thanks.

Hi Phil you said the following

**********************

I have a combined family tree on Ancestry, which I would like to upload to Tribal.

*******************

Now you say you only had one, This one would have overwritten one of you TP ones given you what yu wanted, and then DELETE the other one.

What did you do wrong to create all the extra work.

If you still have the combined one on Ancestry UPLOAD this again and over write the one on TP. This will save you all that work

All the best

Phil,

I had a similar issue when I moved complete GEDCOMs from Ancestry to Tribal Pages. When I contacted them (TP), they suggested that I use a different browser. I had been using Edge and many entries on the Ancestry tree did not transfer to TP. I switched back to my old stand-by, Internet Explorer, and everything went swimmingly.

Before you go to all the trouble of entering person by person, give that a try.

Thanks for that tip. I have managed to get it sorted. I downloaded and uploaded it again and this time it worked.

Hi Phil are you sure that you have the information from both trees in the one in Ancestry, as if you upload this will delete the site in Tribal that you are uploading too.

If you have followed the instructions on the SCREENSHOT

you will now have your ANCESTRY UPLOADED . Confirm to yourself that this is what you wanted and then Delete your other TP site,

To do this Sign in as Administrator then select EDIT and you will see my Screen shot

Follow the instructions

SEE MY SCREEN SHOT

START ALL OVER IS ONLY FOR DELETING THE OTHER SITE

DO NOT DO THIS FIRST

All the best
