I have an Abel Galpin Comstock born in Mass. July 5, 1837 with parents Henry Comstock and Lucinda Wright. Seems that the parents were married in Ingersol Canada. Hope this helps someone. I have more info

Very possible! Abel was in Peoria Ill. before the Civil War. There were some other Comstocks listed in the city directory. Seems they were all living in a boarding house and Abel was an engineer. I found an A.G. Comstock listed as "articifer" in the 1st Tenn. Light Artillery in 1861. Maybe it's him. He moved to LLano Texas in 1870's and eventually came down here to Chambers County Texas. He had married Elizabeth Beulah Cochran and had 1 son, John Abel and 1 step-son W.F. Sales (Elizabeth's 1st husband)

I am a ggggrandaughter of Henry and Lucinda Wright Comstock. They were not married in Ingersoll, Canada, but instead in Berkshire County MA in 1832. I have a list of their children, and Mary is a sister to Abel. Mary and Leander Davis were my gggrandparents. They were married in Ingersoll, Canada and lived in Doniphan County KS. I have more info, but am also looking for the parents of both Henry and Lucinda. Any info would be great.

I'd like to see what you have. Are there any pictures of any of the Comstock children ? Especially interested in Abel. Abel's son, John Abel married my great aunt, Mary Ellen Stines. The Comstock family bible was destroyed in the 1915 hurricane that hit the gulf. I can send what I have on Comstock and I do have some pictures of John Abel and Mary Ellen.

I do have some pictures. One of Lucinda Wright Holmes Comostock who is the mother of Abel. She died in Severence, KS after 1870. I cannot find where his father, Henry Comstock was born or where he is buried. I also have three pictures of Mary Mariah Comstock Davis, who was a sister to Abel. She married Leander Davis and lived in Northeastern Kansas. She was my gggrandmother. She died in 1916 in St. Joseph, MO. I know my brother has a picture of Samuel Comstock, a brother of Abel, who lived in Hiawatha, KS. He died in 1930 and is buried in Hiawatha. I'll get that to you when I get it.
