Have picture of ggrandmother Mary and gggrandmother Helene b. 1842 and are definately of Native ancestry. However, an aunt took the mtDNA test and came back N1b. Mary's daughter was my grandmother. Now consider Native ancestry was male. Traced Lefebvre to Francoise b. 1679, his son Louis b. 1720 and Athanas b.1774, all from Laprairie. Athanas m. Archange Vielle 1815 from France. their daughter Basiliste b. 1829 married Julien Dubuc 1848. Her daughter Helene b. 1842 - no father listed. With all the French marriages, is this too far back to show such strong native characteristics? Is there a DNA test I can take to see who I belong to? Thank you.
