George Stoney born 1794 Husthwaite, North Riding Yorkshire son of William Stoney and Elizabeth Hannam. George married Alice Bateman in 1813 had 9 children between 1815 and 1835.
After the 1841 census George disappears and subsequent censuses shows Alices' status as Married in 1851, Not Known in 1861 and Widowed in 1871.
I have flimsy information that George went to the USA probably 1841 to 1851 landing in Florida and settling in Missouri. As I don't have access to US records can anyone help in finding out if the above is correct and possibly find some details for me.......Thanks Norman Stoney in Australia

Just one quick question please, the 1860 details shows George with Jane, James and Joseph Dowland. Does the census indicate the relationship of Jane , James and Joseph to George or are they just Lodgers/Boarders ?
