Native Heritage

Hey everyone! I have multiple people in my family that say we have Native American heritage. My greatgrandfather Thurman Kenneth Williams' ggmother is said to have been half-cherokee. And my g-g-grandfather Chyril Hugh Turner is said to have been full Cherokee. But I can't find anything to verify that info! So frustrating.

Any genealogists out there willing to go on a treasure hunt? I will trade for testimonials, and possibly a professional website, depending on how much work you put in.

How about it?

There are lots of native American sites. Look up Cherokee Tribes and I found the census books. The Dawes Census lets you look up family names. I started broad with just the last name. If they were on a reservation, it will show up. If they are not, try Simply Cherokee (but they are REALLY pricey) or the Cherokee site. I have found our native American family very helpful.
