Looking for information on Walter Gordon "Rex" Sassman of Austin TX.
Son of James Sassman, Austin, TX
Walter was a crew member of the USS Indianapolis and went down with the ship in 1945.
Any info helps
Thanks in advance
I think you got some of his name mixed up. His name was Gordon W Sassman, not "Walter Gordon".
He was born Gordon Wallace Sassman in Travis County, Texas. Austin is in Travis County.

Hope this helps clarify a few thing for you.
From another list he was referred to as "Walter" by a respondent who was a cousin.
Do you have any information on his father 'James"?
