I live in New Zealand, so visiting UK sources is not possible. I am doing a tree for a friend, but I have hit a brick wall. The family I am researching is Bradshaw, from the Staffordshire area around Walsall, Tipton, Wednesbury, etc. I have traced the line back to Thomas Bradshaw, son of John Bradshaw and Mary ?, born 1793 in Wednesbury who married Ann Webb, daughter of Thomas Webb and Eleanor Fisher on 23 April 1821 in Tipton. The taril goes cold there. I have no way to find where John Bradshaw came from. My friend's family lore says 'maybe from Carrick Fergus, Ireland', but I suspect not. It is to early for the potato famine exodus and the family seems to have a mining and ironwork background. Can anybody please help?
