Research Jobs To Do

I wonder if we could have a feature that lets us list the research jobs we have to do, e.g. confirm marriage, or find date of death etc.

You could use a Story page entitled 'Research Needed'. Stories list alphabetically, so, if you put AA in front it would always be top of the list. As well, you could add links to the relevant families.

Hi Robert, when I did the screen shot, I failed to point out that this was done from EVENTS.

You have two choices in EVENTS, either to use Calendar or List

Below I have also now put List.This is for AUGUST. When in List if you SELECT ALL, you will see the full years list.

Sorry that I did not make it clear that this is using Tribal Pages EVENTS.

Hi Bob, it was my fault by not explaining correctly.

Try it by just making a new FAMILY in your existing tree, and keep on adding sons and daughters and spouces, by giving them names such as RESEARCH.

You will need a First and last name( See my example SCREEN SHOT) they do not have to have similar names as long as they are in the same branch of the tree.

Give them a Date of Birth . This then puts them in a Birthday list that then shows in Calender/List.

You can give them any DOB so say start off with 01/01/1900.

Make sure that they are entered as LIVING, and you will see them when you EDIT and look at Events. On your Privacy settings do not show Living Persons , and then Visitors will not see any of these in EVENTS.

Hope I have made this clear and it is simpler than it sounds. You can alter or delete these as you wish, Treat them exactly the same as your Family Tree

Bob, there is a lot you can do with this. As you know you can use NOTES on each person. Assuming that you have entered one of these FICTITIOUS family names as Forthcoming Marriage. In the Notes you can mention anything you wish such as where the Venue is/ The Church/ Guests.Even add a Photo of the Venue

Another could be Family Gettogether or Family Christmas , and all the arrangements could go in the Notes.

To find any of these at a glance you go to EDIT Events Calendar/File select File ALL and you will see all your entries. Click on the one you want and it will show up with all your Notes.

I use this a lot, and as the EVENT becomes obsolete I delete them, and add as I wish.
