Can somebody suggest a way to indicate that a child is fostered (but not adopted.) Thanks.

If the parents are not known I enter the child as a son or daughter of the mother and record the circumstances in the Notes Box and on a Story Page.

If the purpose of your tree is to be a genetic record, as opposed to being a historic account, there is no purpose served by entering the child at all.

Thanks for that Edward. The person that I am trying to record is in her 60's and has been an integral part of my husbands family since birth. I want her history recorded in some way on our tree so will try your suggestion.

I have this issue with even adopted. I feel like there should be a way to add more parents, especially if they are adopted. For example, my great grandfather's cousin was adopted by his parents when the said cousin's parents died. I'd like to have some link of both to his name.

It's not a huge necessity but I feel a little important.

My parents fostered children as well, never adopted, and I never thought to even add them, even the one that was here for a few years. Interesting point, Carol.
