Data Entry to Family

Ref response from Les. To explain my concern further. Too many cursor movements are needed to enter a given amount of data. After the date of birth filled in one must open the Custom" section to complete, the details of Chr.or Bap. Then after date of death entered in the relavent space off we go again to open the Custom section again to enter the burial details.

Marriage has its own section to but there is no provision for divorce other than a blank line in the Custom section. I could go on but if seems there is a determination to pay no attention to this concern. Perhaps a family tree Progam exists that places Bths and Chr, Dth.Bur.Cre. Marr.Div. together on three sections, not six, with three of them hidden in the Custom Section.

Hi Douglas, this is not so time consuming as you say, to everyone, as most just fill in the basics, as this is what they need,

You mention on your Home Page

*********************

There are nearly 8600 names together with notes on the family tree with near half now manually placed on this site.

*********************

This is the beauty of creating your own tree, as by entering the information you learn about your Family.

There is no short cut, as whatever you wish to enter has to be done MANUALLY, but only to suit the amount that you wush to enter.Surely there is no hardship just to enter into another box, and not time consuming as you make out, with SAVES

These extra SAVES only come about, if you do not have all the information ready to enter at that time, and are therefore bad management by yourself.

***************************

It should not be nescessary to "Enter" each block of data separately and wait for the program to accept it. The slower a program accepts separated data the worse the problem. The fastest processors with programs requiring many points of data entry soon become tiresome.

*******************

I do not know what equipment you are using , but your above statement, does not seem to happen with mine, and TP saving seems to be instantaneous.

If it is tiresome to you, I feel that you have not got your heart into what you are doing.

I suggest that you step away from your Tree for a while and come back , with a different mind set.

Regards

Les
