Find & Replace

Probably the change I would MOST like to see.

It would be fantastic if there was a find & replace function within TP - either global or, say, within the various note fields that are available. For example, I've just spent some time trying to find "STORIES", a literal buried somewhere in my Home Page "About ..." description. I knew it was there, but for some unknown reason when I was in Edit mode, I just couldn't see it. Also, you know there is a typo in the description for one of the people in your DB and figure, yeah that's probably a typo I might do quite often, for example entering the place "Warrnambool" as "Warnambool". It would be an extremely positive feature if I could just globally change that type of error.

Fantastic, thanks Les. How often we can miss the obvious!

No doubt I will find out for myself but does Ctrl-F work globally or only what is currently displayed? As in "Find in this Page"?

Hi Ian, I always use it , no mattter where I am. So I assume YES to your Question.

There is lots of HELP using KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS.

Download them from GOOGLE and see if there are any useful ones there.

Keyboard shortcuts were one of the first things being taught at IT,as it saved you using your Mouse and keeping hands on keyboard. Pity more people do not try this as suggested earlier in FORUM

All the best

I have had a bit of a "play" with Ctrl-F and as I suspected it acts just like the "Find on Page" function - of which I was already aware.

However, it would not seem to be of help in the example I gave, where I may have mis-spelled Warrnambool as Warnambool and now wish to find all examples so that I can correct them. If it's not on the current page, as far as I can tell, it won't find it.

I am pleased to find that Ctrl-F works for the current page even if the literal being sought does not physically appear on the page - say, at the end of a long note. A global Find at least with, hopefully, a Replace would be of huge help.
