About The King, Zimmerman, Focht, Leonard Ancestry
Please sign in to see more. Welcome! Back in 1978, my grandmother Elma W. King (Zimmerman), said to me as I was saying goodbye after a visit; "Don't forget your grandmother." She passed away shortly there after in February of 1979. Growing up, my parents would take my two sisters and I over to visit Grand-mom every Sunday after church. In 1978 I was 19 years old, had a girl friend, was in college, worked part-time, and played baseball. As I look back, I realize she was reminding me to not forget my family in the midst of all I was busy with.
In 2008 I started this website as a hobby so that my family and future generations may know the stories and history of their ancestors. I have learned much about our family roots but there is still much more to uncover. I started with information shared with me by family members who are now gone. I visited cemeteries, obtained death certificates, searched old newspapers, marriage records, birth records, obtained records from historical societies, state archives, and genealogy web sites. I have tried to validate as much of the information as possible on this site but some has not yet been confirmed, and may never be confirmed due to lack of records.
I would like to thank everyone who gave me information and pictures to add to this website, and to other genealogists who have kindly shared their research with me. I may not list all of my sources on my site but I do have many files of research. If you have any information, stories, or pictures you would like to share, just let me know. |
